We provide the following sedation dentistry options in our Bronx, NY office.
IV Sedation Dentistry
IV sedation dentistry is an excellent choice for patients with severe anxiety or fear regarding dental care. You’ll still be awake during your procedure and able to respond to commands from the East Tremont Dental dental team as we work. However, you will enter a heightened state of relaxation that may have an amnesic effect once the procedure is over. Your safety is always our number one concern at East Tremont Dental! After undergoing IV sedation, you will need someone to drive you home from our Bronx, NY office and keep an eye on you for the rest of the day.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” is one of the most well-known forms of sedation, and it’s ideal for patients with mild to moderate feelings of anxiety or discomfort. At East Tremont Dental we’ll administer the gas in our Bronx, NY office through a mask that fits over the nose, and within a few minutes, patients should begin to fall into a deeply relaxed, almost euphoric state.
Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry
Oral sedation dentistry is as simple as taking an aspirin, and it’s a good sedation choice for patients who struggle with moderate to severe dental phobia. This method won’t render you unconscious – instead, you’ll enter a deep state of comfort that still allows you to respond to commands from the East Tremont Dental team.
